About RBM
We are all on the move. Umicore’s rechargeable battery materials give people autonomy and connectivity. We are a pioneer in battery materials that give added range and performance to electric vehicles. Our materials also ensure longer battery life for portable electronics. To enable our customers to produce even better performing batteries we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in.
In the next years several greenfields and significant expansionpr ojects are planned. Such projects require an intensive collaboration between all involved teams (engineering, process, operational teams and others) to achieve a timely and successful start of operations.
The vertical startup manager will coordinate between all on-site stakeholders in the expansions in Kokkola (CAPEX project team, commissioning/qualification team and operational setup team). He will cooperate with the global RBM senior vertical startup manager to implement standards and templates and feedback experiences from the expansion under his/her responsibility. Finally he will be responsible to support the implementation of new operational concepts, to validate the effectiveness from an operational point of view.
- Requires extensive process/production/product/flow/ maintenance/warehousing and logistics knowledge and an operational management experience
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in engineering or other, with several years of experience in an operational role in an industrial environment
- Project management experience
- Good practical technical/technological background
- Good knowledge of variety of systems & tools applied in operational excellence and good experience in implementing operational excellence on the work floor
- Capable of managing several priorities under time restraint and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and spoken Finnish and English
- Strong interpersonal skills, promoter of crossdepartment cooperation
- Well-developed business communication skills
- Ability to organize and coach his/her teams
